 Lenovo ThinkPad R500 Review:

Lenovo Thinkpad R500 is your option if you want the timeless design and unbeatable build quality of the Thinkpad without the cost of the T series. The ThinkPad R500 notebook offers both affordability and great performance, backed by the legendary ThinkPad design.

It has an excellent data protection features for uses’ business. Only authorized users can access data on your laptop with a quick swipe of their finger once configured with the fingerprint scanner..

It uses the new Centrino 2 package that includes the GM45 chipset and a Core 2 Duo P8400 dual core processor that puts other budget laptops to shame in terms of computing power. There are VGA and DisplayPort outputs, but you'll need a Display Port-to-DVI or HDMI adaptor to use this with most monitors.

The Thinkpad R500’s 15.4inch display's resolution of 1,280x800 gives you a similar amount of desktop space as the more usual resolution of 1,366x768 on the 15.6in laptops. But with the 15.4 inch display,, the R500 just feels a little too heavy at 6.6 lbs.

Pros:

·                                 Overall build quality

·                                 Nice screen

·                                 Good value

Cons:

·                                 Keyboard flex is disappointing coming from a Thinkpad

·                                 Too heavy and big

Apple iPad Tablet (64GB, Wifi) has A large, high-resolution LED-backlit IPS display and an incredibly responsive Multi-Touch screen. All of the built-in apps on iPad were designed from the ground up to take advantage of the large Multi-Touch screen and advanced capabilities of iPad.
The Apple iPad Tablet is very fast, opening and closing applications is quick, the built in Safari browser does a great job of quickly loading even graphic intense pages and the screen is incredibly responsive, there is no lag while typing.

It's a whole new kind of device with 9.7-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen Multi-Touch display with IPS technology, 1024-by-768-pixel resolution at 132 pixels per inch (ppi). Screen is a delight - even hours of reading later it's still comfortable

You should find the iPad's 3G performance to be perfectly serviceable for most common tasks if you live, work, or otherwise spend a lot of time in a place with soliad 3G coverage. Like most of people surf the internet, reading email, check RSS feeds and keep up with social networking sites like MySpace or Facebook.
It is great for travelling. After having it, we don't have to a huge laptop when travel. It is ultra sleek and easily portable with its just 1.5 pounds and 0.5 inch thick.

Disadvantage:

It doesn't have USB ports to load content directly onto the device. You can't offload your pictures from your camera directly to the ipad. So it can't replace a laptop completely.
It is not really portable (for men). It doesn't fit in your pocket, so some of the man will leave it at home because they don't carry a purse.

It is a good laptop that I suggest my friends to buy as its configured accordingly. Being that it is a part of HP's dv series, it is designed for multimedia. The HP Pavilion DV6-1230US is a 15.6″ laptop powered by an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6500, 320GB (5400RPM) Hard Drive, 4GB DDR2 RAM and Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium OS.

If you want more memory later, expansion is often a simple procedure. Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop review

The Review Of Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop

Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop review

The Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop is a 15.6" screen integrated graphics multimedia notebook from Dell. The Inspiron 1545 will have a budget price point when configured with an Intel Celeron processor or mid-range price point when configured with a Core 2 Duo processor.

The Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop is an affordable all-purpose notebook with a 15.6in widescreen LCD.. I believe it has performed very well each time. Once the logged in, the desktop appears rather quickly even though I have large programs such as Adobe PhotoShop installed. ....would made laptop slow down too much since this is a large program, known for slowing down computers.

This is a very simple laptop to set up and use. The box only contains the PC (with battery already installed), the power supply, and a packet of software CDs (which I did not use) with minimal documentation.

The main benefit of this added real-estate is a 15.6in screen with a native resolution of 1366x768. The display did a good job during movie playback, with excellent viewing angles and minimal reflective glare.

At the time of ordering, Dell sold the machine with a Dual Core processor as opposed to a faster, full Core 2 Duo CPU, so we opted for that improvement, along with a bump to 3GB of memory, an integrated webcam and a different color red lid.

It has many great features and capabilities, but could be a bit more forgiving when it comes to the pricing.

Advantage:
Wonderful widescreen display )
Speedy processor for a laptop
Machine runs very quiet.
Keyboard is very quiet, and buttons are easy to press.

Disadvantage: .
Glossy finish on the inside of the laptop is prone to fingerprints/smudges.
Lack of dedicated media buttons (shared with F1-F12 keys)
No HDMI
No Bluetooth
No Blu-ray
Only 3 USB ports

Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 Review

Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 Review

This is a review of Lenovo IdeaPad Y710.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 Specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.5Ghz, 6MB cache

17 » display (1440x900)

ATI Radeon HD2600 256MB

Optional HD optical disk

500GB HDD (2 drives)

2GB RAM

7.9lbs

4 hrs of battery life

Currently, Lenovo has two distinct versions of the consumer oriented IdeaPad Y710 in planning.

Lenovo designed the 17-inch widescreen IdeaPad Y710 notebook PC for users who desire a high level of performance for entertainment. The new IdeaPad range – the consumer cousin of the more well-known ThinkPad – features some very sexy kit.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 is a good looking unit, at least, with a piano-like mirror finish on the upper fascia that just can’t wait to soak up your finger prints.

The real draw to the higher end model will be the storage features. It has Halo Lighting, which is side bezel and logo lighting, and can hot swap a secondary hard drive in. but also because it has a faster CPU (2.5Ghz), more storage (2 HDD bays) and has an entry-level GPU that is capable of mild gaming. It has four USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, a FireWire port, HDMI, VGA, and S-Video outputs, and a 6-in-1 media card reader.

The IdeaPad Y710 chassis is designed to have space for two notebooks sized hard drives inside of them.

2 GB is not enough w/ RAM hog Vista running, DVD player lags at times. Its keyboard is amazing just gonna take some time to get use to it's normal size..." This system weighs 7.9 pounds and povides approximately four hours of battery life with a standard 6-cell battery.

In a word, Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 is a laptop you can watch movies on, listen to music, play the occasional game, edit digital videos, web designing, and designing graphics.

Review of Lenovo G550

Review Of Lenovo G550

This article is a review of Lenovo G550.

Lenovo is known for producing value for money laptops and G Series laptops from them won people’s acclaim for that. The latest is the G550, a powerful, usable and portable system that vastly exceeds all expectations at this low price point. It has very solid construction quality and runs very fast for normal use (e.g. office and web). It's quiet, looks cool, and has a nice screen.

The new Lenovo G550 is an update to the Value Line G530 with the primary difference being the shift from a 16:10 to a 16:9 screen. The screen is a glossy one, which many bright colors and contrast, but as with other glossy displays, the reporting of blinding in bright environments such as the office is very annoying to see things on the screen. Plus, the screen has a native resolution of 1366×768.

The 2.1GHz Core 2 Duo T4200 and 3GB of RAM are a powerful combination, and the G550 did extremely well in all our benchmarks, achieving an overall score of 65. The 320GB hard disk provides plenty of storage space, and is a welcome improvement from the previous model's 250GB disk.

The G550 uses a smaller battery but actually provides a longer running time than the older version and more on par with other budget laptops. This is an awesome laptop for the price point. It’s pretty solid for a plastic chassis. Good keyboard with a keypad.

The G550 is a decent laptop with a high specification for the price. With its impressive usability, power and mobility, the G550 ticks nearly all the boxes required of a family laptop.

Lenovo G550 Spec:

· Intel Pentium Dual-Core T4200 (2.00GHz, 1MB L2 cache, 800MHz FSB)

· 15.6-inch glossy 16:9 display (1366x768)

· 3GB DDR3 1066MHz RAM

· 250GB Western Digital 5400RPM HDD

· SuperMulti DVD+/-RW Optical Drive

· Broadcom WiFi (802.11b/g), 10/100 Ethernet, Modem

· 6-Cell 11.1V 48WHr Battery

Lenovo G450 Review

Lenovo G450 Review

I have been using G450 for 4 months now. I think its price and features are just right. I just can't stop raving about it...its made me so happy I even took the time to write a review!

The Lenovo G450 is a 14-inch screen laptop designed for buyers that are on a budget but still want a laptop that is of decent quality and portable enough to take places outside of the home or office.

The screen for the G450 is nice and bright, Lenovo rates it at 220-nits, which is good. The display is very wide, having a 16:9 ratio and 1366 x 768 resolution, this is good for watching movies in widescreen format but it\rquote s a pain if you have very tall web pages as it involves a lot of scrolling. The port selection on the Lenovo G450 is fairly limited, it comes with 3 USB ports, an ExpressCard 34mm expansion slot, one monitor out port, an Ethernet port, headphone and microphone port.

All the tools you need for everyday computing in a full-featured, easy-to-use notebook with stunning good looks—at equally attractive prices...You’ll want to show off your G450 laptop...Select G Series models let you enjoy high-definition, widescreen movies without the black horizontal bars thanks to a 16:9 format..

Lenovo has given this laptop a very fat space for physical memory. 320 gigabytes is already enough for whatever needs that you may have: whether you’re an active downloader of music and movies, a gamer, or a businessman. You can put in a lot of files into your computer and still have enough space for more to come.

The best thing about buying the Lenovo G450 – 2949CGU is its Nvidia GeForce card. Nvidia is one of the best brands of graphics cards out there, and they are known for their excellent support for gaming. Thus, with a Lenovo G450 – 2949CGU in your travel bag, you can entertain yourself while on a long trip by playing your favorite games.

But I think its keypads has a small problem. The cursor transfers to different random locations while typing. so if you type sentences the cursor goes to different places within your work and much time is lost because you have to keep trouble shooting where the cursor goes. this applies to all applications whether notepad, ms word, excel, power point. in this age where time is precioys as gold, this laptop will take much gold from ones precious time reserve.
