17 » display (1440x900)

ATI Radeon HD2600 256MB

Optional HD optical disk

Currently, Lenovo has two distinct versions of the consumer oriented IdeaPad Y710 in planning.

Lenovo designed the 17-inch widescreen IdeaPad Y710 notebook PC for users who desire a high level of performance for entertainment. The new IdeaPad range – the consumer cousin of the more well-known ThinkPad – features some very sexy kit.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 is a good looking unit, at least, with a piano-like mirror finish on the upper fascia that just can’t wait to soak up your finger prints.

The real draw to the higher end model will be the storage features. It has Halo Lighting, which is side bezel and logo lighting, and can hot swap a secondary hard drive in. but also because it has a faster CPU (2.5Ghz), more storage (2 HDD bays) and has an entry-level GPU that is capable of mild gaming. It has four USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, a FireWire port, HDMI, VGA, and S-Video outputs, and a 6-in-1 media card reader.

The IdeaPad Y710 chassis is designed to have space for two notebooks sized hard drives inside of them.

2 GB is not enough w/ RAM hog Vista running, DVD player lags at times. Its keyboard is amazing just gonna take some time to get use to it's normal size..." This system weighs 7.9 pounds and povides approximately four hours of battery life with a standard 6-cell battery.

In a word, Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 is a laptop you can watch movies on, listen to music, play the occasional game, edit digital videos, web designing, and designing graphics.
